Focus, when more closed, projects a light in the square shape, which is the shape of the led.
When the focus is expanded, then everything is normal, round, like every flashlight. But in the tighter focus, it really gets weird.
This flashlight is a very, very nice deep red. The settings for high and low are nice, but I don't really need a red strobe.
One thing that would be nice is if the flashlight remembered your last operating mode when you turned it on instead of having to cycle thru the settings. Most flashlights don't do this, but I wish they did.
